Tefal vs. T-Fal: are they the same brand?
Are Tefal and T-Fal the same brand? It is a question that we get asked a lot. So let us demystify this for once and all here.
So, Tefal vs. T-Fal: are they the same brand? The short answer is yes.
But if these two belong to the same brand, why do they have this slightly different yet similar name? Well, T-fall is the brand’s designated name for regions such as the USA, Canada, and Japan.
Why is that? Well, Tefal has to change their brand name to T-fal in the USA due to an objection from DuPont. This US-based company has a patent over the product Teflon. For some reason, they think the Tefal name is close to this patented product. This forced Tefal to change its brand name slightly to avoid any patent infringement in the USA.
