A non-stick pan is an important handy tool in your kitchen when you want easily too. These items are lightly used, lightweight, non-sticky, and require a reduced amount of oil or fat. But these non-stick pans should be taken care of properly to maintain their non-sticky feature for proficiency. How to remove a non-stick coating from the cookware, leaving a smooth, clean surface.

It’s because the food might stick to the bottom of the pan and may not come out, causing foods to release unevenly. It becomes very risky to your body. Because this coating may get mixed into food while cooking and invade your body.

When your non-stick pan or pot is dilapidated, and you still want to use them instead of buying a new one, it’s better to remove the non-stick coating completely from your pan or pot. I am not recommending using the pan if its coating is pacing off. It becomes so trying to cook. Either you extract the non-stick coating from cookware, or you can buy a new one.

Remove the non-stick coating from the wok:

There are three methods from which you can completely remove the non-stick coating from your pan or pot. You can follow different steps, which you realize is easy for you.

Soaking:

Soaking the coated material is the first method used to remove the Teflon coating.

  • Place the pan in a sink, say, with half an inch of dishwasher soap and immerse it using boiling water.
  • The pan should then get soaked in the solution for about twenty hours; thus, well-chosen softness to the top layer of the Teflon.
  • Subsequently soaking the pan, sprinkle baking soda onto its non-stick interior surface, and scrub it thoroughly using a scouring pad to strip off the softened Teflon
  • Repeat the above steps until no destruction of Teflon gets left on the material surfaces.

In most cases, this mechanism is used on scratched or maybe burnt the process does not need professional assistance. Hence, most homes can afford it in terms of commercial status. So, Soaking is surrounded by the most common non-industrial practice of removing Teflon coating.

Metal Scrubbers:

The other process used is using rough materials such as metal scrubbers. In this case, Teflon coating is scrubbed applying a metal scouring pad and baking soda. This process has automatic outcomes. No time required the process to exhaustive, unlike the use of soapy water. Elements used in this method are easily accessible, thus making it low-cost to all people. This procedure is most used at home and rarely in the industries.

  • Sandpaper
  • Hand Gloves
  • Cloth
  • Dish Soap

To start with, wear hand gloves to protect your hand and take the sandpaper. At the moment, rub the pan with some pressure and clean it with a cloth.

Repeat this movement again and again until the black coating peels off and the silver color is appearing.

When the coating will be finally removed, again take the sandpaper and now rub with clockwise and anti-clockwise directions to decrease the scratches. This formation requires both patience and energy for removing it. Finally, wash with dish soap and clean properly. Suddenly take the pan and season it two to three times to make it smooth.

Yes, It is non-toxic. So, It’s classical for all kinds of cooking. But people are often confused about the safety of woks, non-stick pans, and other cookware. They often have a factory coating or non-stick coating, which can comprise toxic chemicals.

There is no question that oilless cooking is a better way to make healthy meals. But using non-stick woks can offer other opportunities as well. Maintaining this type of cooking a pot is easy and not time exhaustingly. The non-stick coating produces it easy to clean.
